Just like a toque-wearing Moses, Andre Rochat parted the waves of Las Vegas price range buffets in 1980, bringing the food of his local France to a culinary arts desert. Rochat has since added Andre's in the Monte Carlo and Alizé at the Palms. But his provincially decorated flagship in a 1930s-era down-town house-with 4 cozy dining areas, each symbolizing some other French town and decorated with lots of wood, tapestries, and also soft lighting-is still moving strong, owing in part to a food list that includes both classic French meals for example coquilles Saint Jacques (scallops in a wine-enriched cream sauce) and many with updated twists, such as grilled quail with figs and prosciutto. Entrée prices start in the mid-30s.
